Golfers raise £8,000 for Mind

Elton Furze Golf Club’s charity of the year - chosen by their three Captains, David Pope, Bill Livingstone and Janet Elliott - has been presented with £8,040.20.

The golf club near Peterborough organised a variety of fundraising activities in aid of CPSL Mind including; curry nights, raffles, name the bunny, a black tie dinner, auctions, donations in lieu of Christmas cards and many other fun activities. Members gave generously throughout the year with all donations going towards the local mental health charity.

David Pope (Club Captain) said: “Mental health is such an important issue. We all know someone who has struggled with depression or anxiety, and it is so important that services are available when people need support. CPSL Mind do an amazing job, especially helping people in mental health crisis through their Sanctuary service both in Peterborough and Cambridge. We are so pleased we have been able to help such a great local charity.”

Zoe Doherty, Fundraiser for CPSL Mind added: “We are simply overwhelmed to receive such an enormous donation. A huge thank you to David, Bill and Janet for choosing CPSL Mind to support.”
