Hobbies for the taster sessions can be about a wide range of subjects from arts and crafts, cookery, languages, history, science, basic IT, writing, gardening, Tai chi, model-making or anything that has a broad appeal to individuals or families.
Janet Bristow, deputy principal and head of service at City College Peterborough said: “The taster sessions are designed to encourage people to improve their health, confidence and wellbeing by embracing something new and, for some, tempting them into their first step towards further learning.

Online taster sessions are just one of several ways in which people looking for employment, at risk of redundancy or currently furloughed from work can retrain and re-skill under the college’s New Start initiative.
For more information about running an online taster session, email Debbie Chalmers via [email protected] or call 01733 761361 (ext. 844).
People looking for opportunities to re-train should email: [email protected] for further information, advice and guidance.
