Furniture and carpets store in Peterborough to reopen to customers

A home furnishings retailer in Peterborough will reopen to customers tomorrow.

Furniture and carpets retailer AHF will open its store in Mallory Road, in Boongate, at 10am on Saturday. (May 23)

The store is one of seven that AHF is reopening across the region as the Government moves to ease the coronavirus lockdown.

A spokesperson for the retailer, which has its head office in Saville Road, Peterborough, said: “Following new government guidance homeware is now on the list of exempted sectors of the lockdown.

“This means we are now able to open our stores.”

Customers are being reassured that strict social distancing measures will be in place.

The spokesperson said: “To help keep everybody safe, we’ve launched a wide range of safe shopping measures including two metre social distancing and limiting numbers to give everyone plenty of space to browse.

“We’ve also introduced enhanced in-store cleaning and disinfecting routines, added hand sanitising stations, and supplied all our staff with personal hand sanitiser, which they will use before interacting with any customer.”

AHF is also offering appointments for customers with a dedicated out of hours appointments.

It means customers can have the store to themselves to try out sofas, dining sets and beds with the undivided attention of a member of staff.
