Footwear retailer Deichmann steps out with opening of second store in Peterborough

Shop will celebrate with special offers on Saturday

A footwear retailer hopes to be setting the pace in Peterborough after throwing open the doors to its newest store.

Leading European footwear trader Deichmann, which has an £85 million turnover, has finally begun trading at its second store in the city.

It is employing 15 members of staff at its new 590 square metre store at 14 Serpentine Green Shopping Centre, in Hampton, which has just undergone a £375,000 refurbishment.

The new jobs include manager positions, shop floor and cashier roles.

Deichmann marked the opening by presenting customers offers on a select range of shoes.

The opening will be officially celebrated at the store on November 19 with a variety of giveaways, offers and family fun activities throughout the day.

These include:

Free shoes for the store’s first 25 customers on November 19 (up to £25)

Limited edition bags for the first 500 customers

Spin the wheel game with exclusive discounts and giveaways to win

A spokesperson said: “The Peterborough Serpentine Green store showcases a customer friendly layout, with all the stock available on the shop floor so that customers can easily locate and try on the style and size of their choice without having to wait for assistance.

"Deichmann also stocks a full range of men’s and children’s shoes, as well as unique and exclusive lines from brands such as adidas, Fila, Nike and Skechers.”

The retailer’s other store in Peterborough is in the Queensgate Shopping Centre.
