Flipping marvellous! Pancake Day race around Peterborough Cathedral goes down a treat

The traditional Pancake Day race around Peterborough Cathedral went down a treat today (Tuesday).

The Shrove Tuesday tradition saw teams of four doing two circuits around the cathedral precincts, with relay handover points along the way. There was a ‘flip zone’ where runners had to stop and complete five full flips of their pancake – closely watched by a pancake adjudicator – before continuing onto the next handover point. Many teams took part in the annual event, and Peterborough Telegraph photographer David Lowndes was there to capture the action.
