Aldi has donated a selection of pancake making kits to the Discovery Pre-School.

The kits, which have been shared with charities and foodbanks across the UK, provide families with all the ingredients they need to take to the kitchen this Pancake Day.

The donation is part of the supermarket’s partnership with community giving platform Neighbourly, which sees Aldi donate surplus food from stores to help support its local communities.

Karolina Rogers from Discovery Pre-School, Early Years Alliance said: “It will be really wonderful to share these pancake kits with our vulnerable families and key working parents. It's also a great fun activity for the children to do at pre-school.”

Mary Dunn, Managing Director of Corporate Responsibility at Aldi UK, said: “We hope our pancake kits help spread a bit of joy to families, providing them with the ingredients to cook up some tasty creations in the kitchen.”

Steve Butterworth, from Neighbourly, added: “We believe every child should get to enjoy the fun and deliciousness of Pancake Day, no matter what their situation. Aldi’s additional donations will go a long way to putting a smile on children’s faces this Pancake Day.”
