First look around plush interiors of new riverside apartments at Peterborough's Whitworth Mill

More than 50 prospective tenants got the opportunity to view the plush new riverside apartments that are being completed at Peterborough’s Whitworth Mill.

The first of a number of open days for the public began yesterday with potential tenants treated to a viewing of the elite balcony river view apartment on the sixth floor of Cathedral House.

The views across the river also take in the historic Peterborough Cathedral and the green open spaces of the Embankment.

The tours are being hosted by developers MJS Construction with building work on course to be completed by the end of the month.

Luke Clarke, portfolio and development manager, for MJS Construction, said: “We have mixtures of one, two, three bedrooms.

"We've got duplex apartments, we've got apartments with private entrances, there are EV charging points and parking - we've got a whole host of a mix of apartments for people to choose from.

"And the location being so close to the city centre and with the new bridge over the River Nene that's going in.

"It just makes it a really appealing place for people to live and with prices starting from £1,200 a month.”

The Mill Yard is a development of 80 apartments on the south bank of the River Nene.

The site is home to the locally listed former Whitworth Mill which has been converted into 23 apartments with commercial space on the ground floor.

Cathedral House has 23 apartments spread across six floors.

The other two buildings are Engine House, which has 15 apartments, and River House, which has 19 apartments and overlooks the River Nene.
