Enjoy traditional music, dance and cuisine at Peterborough's European Cultural Heritage Festival

Thousands of visitors are expected to flock to Stanley Park next month as Peterborough’s European Cultural Heritage Festival returns for a second year.

Following the success of 2025’s successful festival - which attracted thousands of visitors and featured one of the largest European-style markets in the region with around 70 stalls - this year’s free celebration promises to be even bigger and more diverse on Sunday, June 7.

Organised by city based Zi Foundation in partnership with Little Bulgaria UK, this free, family-friendly event will once again bring the city to life with a vibrant programme of traditional music, dance performances, cultural showcases, and authentic European cuisine.

And this year more countries, including North Macedonia and Italy, will be joining the celebration, bringing even more cultural richness, flavours and traditions to the event.

Sharing his vision for the event, Zillur Hussain MBE, founder of the Zi Foundation, said: “I am truly passionate about making Peterborough a recognised cultural city.

"This festival is about bringing people together, celebrating our diversity, and strengthening unity. I strongly believe in Peterborough as one city, one community.

“Peterborough is a welcoming city, and we warmly invite people from every community and every city across the UK to join us and be part of this special celebration.”

As part of this year’s preparations, there are still opportunities for local businesses, artisan traders, food vendors and community groups to take part in the festival’s bustling cultural marketplace.

From traditional foods and sweets to handmade crafts, clothing, and unique products, stallholders will have a fantastic opportunity to showcase their work to a large and engaged audience.
