Dogsthorpe Road store in Peterborough seeks permission to sell alcohol
A grocery store on Dogsthorpe Road has applied for a licence that will enable it to sell alcohol to the general public.
International Store, which sits on the junction of Dogsthorpe Road, Huntly Grove and Green Lane, made the request to Peterborough City Council on May 7, 2026.
In its application for a premises licence, the popular neighbourhood grocery store requested permission to operate the sale of alcohol between the hours of 8am and 11pm, Monday to Sunday.
In a bid to head off any potential alcohol-related nuisance issues, the application states that “the premises shall not operate irresponsible alcohol promotions or deep-discount sales designed to encourage excessive purchasing.”

The applicant also said that its staff will “take reasonable steps to discourage anti-social behaviour linked to alcohol sales in or immediately outside the premises.”
Moreover: “Notices shall be displayed at the premises advising customers to leave quietly and respect neighbours.”
Anyone wishing to have their say on this application can do so by making representations to the Licensing Section of Peterborough City Council before June 5.
The application can be viewed in full by visiting the Licensing Public Register on the Peterborough City Council website at https://registers.peterborough.gov.uk/Licensing.aspx?ID=135519
