Demolition of former Peterborough sports club set to take place

The demolition of a former sports club in Peterborough is set to take place in July.

Thistlemoor Medical Centre has submitted an application to demolish the clubhouse at the Parkway Sports & Leisure Club in Lincoln Road, New England, on Monday, July 13.

The practice bought the venue from the Parkway PSL Ltd last year in order to create a new two-storey building and additional car parking.

The club was used by top local non-league side Peterborough Sports FC, as well as a number of darts, crib and snooker teams.

Peterborough Sports has since unveiled plans for a new clubhouse as it continues its push to rise through the non-league pyramid.

The application for the demolition has been submitted by Thistlemoor to Peterborough City Council.
