The site opened on Friday to key workers and will help the Government meet its target of hitting 100,000 tests a day by the end of the month.

The Peterborough Telegraph has asked the Government how many tests are available to be carried out each day and what the take up has been so far.

The network is due to provide thousands of PCR swab tests - which are used to identify if you currently have the virus - starting with NHS frontline staff.

This means those who test negative for coronavirus can return to work as soon as possible, and those who test positive are able to recover.

The testing centre is being operated in partnership with G4S and Boots and is offering assisted and self-administered tests. Those tested will receive their results within a few days.

The arena tweeted at the weekend that key workers should not ring ahead to book a test but should click: https://eastofenglandarena.com/news/important-statement-from-dhsc-re-testing-and-booking-a-test-for-covid19/.
