Coronavirus: Free books and toys left in Whittlesey for people to take

Residents across Whittlesey have been leaving free books, toys and learning materials outside their doors for other families to take.

The idea is that on their daily walk, people can come and take something they might need. Not ignoring government advice, the freebies have been left with sanitisers to avoid the passing of germs.

Dean Frisby wanted to bring some happiness to households and offer children something else to do. Donating hundreds of Horrible Histories books, stationery and paper, he said: “I had seen other people locally giving away items and thought as I had these at home I could also do a give away. It was nice to see some happy faces from my window.”

The kind gesture has been loved by local families who have called it “amazing” and “perfect for their history lessons”.
