Coronavirus: Five more patients die at hospitals run by Peterborough health trust

Five more Covid-19 patients at hospitals run by the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust have died.

It means 112 patients with the virus have now passed away at either Peterborough City Hospital or Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

A further seven people have also tested positive for the virus in Peterborough, bringing the total to 223. Testing started being carried out at the East of England Arena and Events Centre on Friday.

In the UK, 765 new deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours.

The total recorded death toll of coronavirus patients is now 26,097, with all deaths and not just those in hospitals now being included in the national figure.

So far, 165,221 people in the UK have tested positive for Covid-19.

This includes 718 in Cambridgeshire, 804 in Lincolnshire and 1,013 in Northamptonshire.
