Coronavirus: Five more deaths at hospitals run by Peterborough health trust

Five more patients with coronavirus have died at hospitals run by the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

The number of deaths at Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital has risen to 70, according to the latest figures published by NHS England.

The figures show a further patient died on Friday - in addition to the death on Friday that had been announced in yesterday’s figures - bringing Friday’s total to two and a further four people died on Saturday.

Today’s figures showed there have now been 136 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Peterborough and 502 in Cambridgeshire.

A total of 16,060 patients have died in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK as of 5pm on Saturday, the Department of Health said, up by 596 from 15,464 the day before.
