Coronavirus: Deaths of Covid-19 patients at hospitals run by Peterborough trust passes 100

The number of Covid-19 patients who have died at either Peterborough City Hospital or Hinchingbrooke Hospital has gone past 100.

There have been 27 deaths in the past six days, according to the latest figures released by NHS England, with 102 people now having passed away at either hospital.

Both hospitals are run by the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

The trust’s latest figures released to the public said there had been 99 deaths, with 64 at Peterborough City Hospital and 35 at Hincingbrooke, although this was released before the latest NHS England figures.

The patients were aged 30 to 98 years old and had pre-existing health conditions, the trust said.

Across the UK, a further 413 hospital patients with coronavirus have died in the past 24 hours.

The number of patients to have died in hospital has reached 20,372.

In Peterborough, there have now been 189 positive tests for coronavirus.

In Cambridgeshire, the figure is 654, while in Lincolnshire it is 759 and in Northamptonshire it is 984.
