Coronavirus: Claps, cheers, whistles and saucepans in tribute to NHS staff and key workers

Thousands of people took part in the second Clap for Carers campaign to recognise the incredible work of NHS staff and key workers in Peterborough and across the country.

Residents went onto balconies driveways and leaned out of windows across the city to pay a personal tribute to NHS staff.

There was applause and cheers and many residents banged saucepans and blew whistles to show their appreciation.

From fire crews to flats the turnout was every bit as impressive as last week’s 8pm tribute.
