Coronavirus: 90 patients confirmed to have died in Peterborough

The number of Covid-19 patients to have died at Peterborough City Hospital has reached 90.

The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust has revealed that 141 patients have passed away, which includes 51 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

They were all aged between 30 and 98 years old and had pre-existing health conditions, the trust said.

The figure provided by the trust is four more than the latest total being shown by NHS England.

Trust chief executive Caroline Walker said: “I can confirm that, sadly, a total of 141 patients being cared for in our trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths.

“There have been 51 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 90 at Peterborough City Hospital. Patients were aged 30 to 98 years old and had pre-existing health conditions. They had all tested positive for Covid-19.”

Across the UK, a further 346 Covid-19 associated deaths have occurred in the past 24 hours of counting, bringing the overall total to 31,587.

In Peterborough, the number of positive tests for the virus has risen by one to 295.

In Cambridgeshire, the number of positive tests is 912, while it is 916 in Lincolnshire and 1,121 in Northamptonshire.
