A woman from Peterborough celebrated achieving Girlguiding's highest award at an event in Parliament.
Jessica Morris, who is assistant leader with the 25th Werrington Guides and works for an insurance company, joined the celebration at the House of Commons where she was given the award by Chief Guide Gill Slocombe, Girlguiding’s most senior volunteer.
Jessica (28) took 18 months to complete the tough Queen’s Guide Award, a personal collection of challenges which must be completed before a woman turns 26.
She said: “Doing the Queen’s Guide Award has helped me build on my personal skills and increased my self-confidence. The award now proudly sits on my CV and it helped me to get my latest job. I’m really proud of myself for completing it.”
