Bourne's Christmas tractor run to raise funds for local charities
A Christmas event for charity will bring festive cheers to roads around Bourne on Sunday, December 14.
Dozens of tractors adorned in tinsel will set off at 3pm for this year’s Bourne Christmas Tractor Run.
Funds raised at the event will support two local charities – The Butterfield Centre, which includes The Butterfield Community Pantry, and Age Care Advice.
The first tractor run was first held in July last year, supporting the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance. This was followed by their first Christmas run – which raised funds to buy presents for the children’s ward at Peterborough Hospital.

The event is the brain child of Tim Sleight, and organised by his daughter Lisa, with the support of volunteers.
“We've grown massively over a very short space of time and our last event we welcomed 57 tractors,” Lisa said.
"To see the look on those people's faces, especially the youngest of children is worth it. As the tractors pass the atmosphere is amazing. It really does bring out the best in people.”
Activities will be held at JJmac Ltd before and after the tractor run, including a tombola, refreshments and unlimited tea and coffee.
The route is as follows:
• Leaving JJmac Ltd in Spalding Road, heading along Spalding Road to Abbey Road
• Abbey Road through Bourne towards Morton along the A15
• Turning left at Morton cross road and heading towards Hanthorpe.
• At Hanthorpe turning left onto Edenham
• Past Edenham Church of England Primary School and turning left onto A151
• Heading back to Bourne via West Road onto West Street back through the centre of Bourne town onto Abbey Road
Lisa added: “After living in Bourne all of my life I absolutely love organising this event and being involved with our followers.
“We’d like to thank everyone for their support from our host JJ Mac Ltd to drivers to volunteers to our supporters.”
