Approval granted to demolish former Peterborough sports club

The demolition of a former sports club in Peterborough can now take place after planning approval was granted.

Thistlemoor Medical Centre had submitted an application to demolish the clubhouse at the Parkway Sports & Leisure Club in Lincoln Road, New England.

The practice bought the venue from the Parkway PSL Ltd last year in order to create a new two-storey building and additional car parking.

The club was used by top local non-league side Peterborough Sports FC, as well as a number of darts, crib and snooker teams.

Peterborough Sports has since unveiled plans for a new clubhouse as it continues its push to rise through the non-league pyramid.
