A1 among roadworks hotspots set to cause disruption to Peterborough drivers this May

Peterborough motorists are being urged to be mindful of roadworks that are set to cause disruption in and around the city over the next few weeks.

As we enter May, several roads within the city – along with the region’s main north-south long-distance artery – will face closure to accommodate maintenance works.

Here are the upcoming hotspots to be mindful of:

Thorpe Wood, Longthorpe

Thorpe Wood is set to close at the beginning of May when remedial works to road markings will be taking place along its entire length.

The closure is scheduled to last from Monday May 4 to Wednesday May 15, although actual closure dates will be confirmed locally on site.

The alternative route for affected motorists is: Thorpe Road, Longthorpe Parkway and Nene Parkway (and vice-versa).

All Saints Road, Eastfield

All Saints Road, just off Central Park, is set to close between properties 47 and 53 in order to accommodate communication pipe repair works.

Whilst this closure is scheduled to last from Wednesday May 6 to Friday May 8, actual dates will be confirmed locally on site.

Motorists affected by this order can make use of the following diversion: Park Road, Princes Street, Dogsthorpe Road, and All Saints Road (and vice-versa).

A1 Trunk Road, Stamford

The link road leading from the southbound carriageway of the A1 to the A6121 Tinwell Road at Stamford is set to close during the second week of May.

This will be an overnight closure, with work scheduled to be carried out between 8pm on Monday May 11 and 6am on Tuesday May 12.

Motorists will find a diversion route, via the A1 and Kettering Road, signed on-site during the works.
