The Peterborough Telegraph is running regular spotlights on cats that need new homes to support the work of animal charities in the Peterborough area.
The Peterborough and District Branch of the RSPCA do so much to rescue, nurture and subsequently rehome all kinds of pets in the area. They have continued to operate throughout lockdown and within a small radius are still permitted to rehome these animals.
Below are a selection of those that have been rescued and are in need of their forever home.
To find more details on each cat and to search for more rescue animals, visit www.rspca.org.uk/findapet/rehomeapet/process.
The RSPCA are funded entirely by public donations and receive no government money and therefore rely on the generosity of the public. Anyone wishing to support their work do so via www.rspca.org.uk/getinvolved/donate.

9. Marsha
Marsha is a lovely lady who came into us as a stray with kittens. Due to the kittens being over 8 weeks now, she is ready to retire from her mothering duties and look for her forever home. Marsha is quite a confident cat and is usually keen for attention. When she is settled, she is generally affectionate and isn't too scared of being brushed. Marsha is an independent girl, however, she can be quite curious to see what you are up to. She is happy to interact on her terms and providing everyone in the house accepts this, she could get on well with children. Marsha would prefer to be the only pet in the household in order to reach her full potential. Photo: Midlands

10. Simba
This is sweet and handsome Simba. He arrived at the centre after his owner was no longer able to care for him. Simba has found it a little difficult to settle into the centre. He would tend to try and hide from the staff in his tunnel. However, we are recently started to see that he is becoming more relaxed around us after spending some one on one time with him. Simba now doesn't try to hide from you when you go to see him instead he is seen napping on his chair. Some mornings you will find that he is waiting for you at the door meowing. Simba has also began to enjoy some affection from a nice fuss on the head. As Simba is still a little nervous he can tell you when he has had enough by swipping at you. His new owners will have to understand to give him space when he wants it and that he might be very nervous when he arrives at his new home. If you see through his nerves you will soon find a very sweet and loving boy who very much love his you once he has had time to bond with you. Photo: Midlands

11. Tressy and Soot Soot
Tressy and soot soot are 2 lovely cats that need a special home that can give them the time to settle as they are alittle shy but are friendly. They will need a home with no other pets so they can have the attention to help them along. Tress is a 12 year old semi loghair tabby female and Soot soot is a 3 year old black male. Tressy is the more out going of the pair. When inside they would need a few litter trays around or if there was an outside enclosed area where they could spend time outside safely my help them. They would also benefit from an adult house hold. If you would like more information on them please call 01733 221112 mon - sun 9am - 4pm Photo: Midlands
