12 nostalgic photos that perfectly capture life in Peterborough in the swinging ‘60s

Peterborough, like all cities across England, has undergone numerous changes over the decades, but many would agree that the city has retained its soul through the good times and bad.

Photos are the best way to explore how the city has evolved over the years, particularly when looking back at the pre-digital era.

The Peterborough Telegraph has covered the city’s ups and downs for many decades, and over the years we’ve built up a collection of thousands of photographs.

Take a look at these photos selected from the Peterborough Telegraph’s archive and see how different things looked back in the 1960s.

These photos are, of course, just a snapshot at city life during the swinging ‘60s, and we hope to share more with you over the coming weeks and months.
