Pedestrian taken to hospital after collision with a car in Peterborough

A pedestrian in Peterborough was taken to hospital after being struck by a car yesterday (April 12).

The incident took place on the crossing outside of Aldi on Whittlesey Road, Stanground yesterday evening.

As a result, a man in his 20s had to be taken to hospital by paramedics but is not thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

Many residents have expressed their concern at the safety of the crossing, with some suggesting the area needs to be better lit at night.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: “We were called at 7.18pm yesterday (12 April) to outside Aldi on Whittlesey Road, Stanground, Peterborough with reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car.

“One man in his 20s was taken to hospital by paramedics but he is not thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries.”
