Peterborough MP wrong to excuse Dominic Cummings behaviour - LETTER

I realise Paul is doing what he is told by Tory HQ but others in his party are, quite rightly, condemning Cummings for breaking lockdown rules. And no weasel words in Boris Johnson’s rose garden will alter that fact.

Cummings’ actions are a slap in the face for our marvellous front-line heroes and the many millions who have followed the rules at great personal hardship. Cummings has flouted the very rules that he created. It sends the dangerous message that you can interpret the rules in any way you see fit.

I sympathise with Paul and his personal tragedies during lockdown but he is wrong when he blames the “Brexit-driven” media for the Cummings affair. Cummings and Johnson have co-piloted Brexit, manipulating the media in every way possible.

They have colluded to try and keep Cummings in a job which he clearly deserves to lose and our MP needs to make the point to the Prime Minister.

Please show that you are a better MP than our previous representative.
