Letter: Peterborough’s bus company is stressing me out

This morning I was refused admission onto a bus after working a twelve hour night shift.

I was in possession of a valid ticket (a £15 megarider) and I was wearing a proper face mask.

The driver claimed that the bus was full but this was untrue; empty double and single seats were clearly visible from where I was standing at the entrance to the vehicle.

So yet again Stagecoach have taken my money up front then failed to provide a service.

All they have done since this virus broke out is hinder and obstruct key workers such as myself. First they reduced the number of buses running, making it nigh on impossible to get a connection, and now they have drastically restricted the number of passengers they let on each of these infrequent buses.

They display the phrase ‘Proud To Serve’ on their buses but they are hypocrites as they have made lives a lot worse for a lot of decent, hard-working people.

In fact, Stagecoach cause me a lot more stress than all of the 1,200 prisoners at my place of work put together. This is not an exaggeration; I absolutely dread the uncertainty of my journeys to and from work.
