Emergency services were called to Crown Street in New England at about 10.30am on Sunday.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, who sent crews from Dogsthorpe and Stanground fire stations, said: "Firefighters arrived to find a fire in a house and extinguished it using a hose reel. They returned to their stations by 11.15am.

"A male casualty required treatment for burns at the scene and was left in the care of ambulance crews.

The cause of the fire was accidental."
