Maggie Mooney (51), of Temple Grange, Werrington, underwent a life-saving liver transplant at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge in May 2011.
Seven months later she held her first charity ball, a black-tie affair at Peterborough United’s London Road ground to give something back.
In November her fifth event at the venue raised £9,000 - and took the total she has raised for the Addenbrookes Charitable Trust (ACT)to £36,000.
And last week Maggie, an ACT ambassador, handed over the proceeds to staff from the transplant ward.
Maggie, who last year was named Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year by the East Anglia Institute of Fundraising, said: “I owe an awful lot to the people at Addenbrookes who saved my life and have looked after me and been a big part of my life ever since.
“It is a pleasure to be able to give something back through fundraising.
“ We are already planning the next ball which will take place later this year.”
