LOOKING BACK: The elephant in the room

Another reader has been in touch with a picture of Posh fans. Maddie Fisher wrote: “This photo has been in our family album for many years. It shows a scene from the Glebe Road terrace off London Road.

“My father, uncle and brother, lifelong Posh fans, always stood in this part of the ground. My brother, Jed Dixon can be seen three rows back wearing the bobble hat and our father, Reg Dixon is standing just behind him. Our uncle, his brother, is standing to dad’s left. Although his name was Charles he was known to all as “Boff”.

“Jed believes the photo was taken during the 1969/70 season. Sadly Reg and Boff have both passed away but I remember many stories of their adventures travelling to away games, often by train on the “Football Specials”.

“Hope you find this of interest – you never know some readers may recognise themselves from over 45 years ago!’’
