Looking Back: Peterborough entertainers

Peterborough has a good representation in today's pop music from former Jack Hunt schoolboys ex-JLS star Aston Merrygold and Keith Palmer aka Maxim Reality of The Prodigy to Erasure singer and former Dogsthorpe resident Andy Bell.

Today’s pictures feature less famous musicians but ones that have entertained city people over the years.

They are Last Chance, the Terry Mann Dance Band pictured in 1968, The Peter Bowyer band taken at the Dujon, the Dynatones in session at the Old Scarlett pub in Dogsthorpe, the Ray Allen band and the Kelly Colson band.

There is also a picture which shows former Mr Posh Tom Keeble with an unknown band.

I have very little information on these bands other than their names but I hope they stir some happy memories – please share them by contacting me. The only band I have some information on is The Dynatones whose main claim to fame was appearing on the same bill as The Beatles in March 1963 at the Embassy in Peterborough.
