FOOTBALL: Ortonians beat big Peterborough League rivals Hotpoint 2-0 in a Hunts Senior Cup semi-final with goals by James Horner and Darren Allport.

HOCKEY: Bretton Beavers won the March Zulus tournament, beating Peterborough Athletic 1-0 in the final thanks to a goal by Adrian Milner.
ATHLETICS: Werrington Joggers won the last race in the Today’s Runner League series at Bourne Woods to take the overall title. Jim Grant was their best placed runner on the day finishing third behind Mike Rutowski (Thomas Cook) and Rod Pritchard (Eye/Thorney).

Hide AdDARTS: Cambridgeshire chalked up their biggest win of the season when thrashing Dorset in Bournemouth 31-9. Stars of the show were 3-0 winners Pete Evison and Kevin Spiolek, who both finished with a 28.90 average.
ICE HOCKEY: Peterborough Pirates star Kevin King returned from the World Junior Championships in Denmark with a bronze medal. He played in all five matches for Great Britain Under 21s.
RUGBY: Kim Summerlin crossed for a hat-trick of tries for Stamford thirds as they beat Barker Butts thirds 25-6.
ICE HOCKEY: Ladies team Peterborough Ravens beat Solihull 5-2 through goals by Kim Strongman (2), Carol Smallman (2) and Nicky Lawson.

ANGLING: Wisbech rod Malcolm Fisher won the Eastern Region Shield match on the River Cam with 31lb 1oz.
POSH: Noel Cantwell dropped striker Dave Gregory and played centre-half Chris Turner as the front man against Chester and it worked. Turner netted twice in a 3-2 home win.
FOOTBALL: Eye United reached the PFA Sunday Afternoon Cup final by beating Stamford Tigers 4-1. Geoff Biggs scored a hat-trick.

POSH: Gordon Clark’s injury-hit side did well to draw 0-0 with high-flying QPR in a Division Three game at Loftus Road. Ron Cooper and Brian Wright did a superb man-marking job on dangermen Rodney Marsh and Les Allen respectively.
FOOTBALL: The Peterborough Sunday League representative sides both beat their Bedford counterparts 2-0 in the annual inter-league challenge matches. Ray Copestake and Barry White scored for the seniors with the Under 21 goals coming from Graham Harris and an own goal.
RUGBY: Borough lost 9-3 at Old Cantabrigians. Jack Deacon scored their try.
