Idolising Nova, made up of Jack Smith, 22, Kyle O’Sullivan, 21, Kris Lee, 22 and Ollie Gale, 23, have only been together as a band since Christmas, but are already making waves having just been signed to local record label, Main Stage Records, with a debut single on the way in the next few months.

The four piece, which describes its sound as Indie-pop, originally started as just a duo, with Jack and Ollie putting acoustic covers on YouTube. This then led to them playing their first big gig at the O2 Academy in Islington towards the end of last year.

Now, Kris (lead guitar) and Kyle (drums) have joined the band, which is set to release a cover of Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’ this month, with the music video being filmed this January in an old theatre in Hunstanton, Norfolk.

Jack, joint vocalist said: “We are fortunate enough to have Razer (one of the world’s largest gaming companies) doing product placement in the video, which they will then share on social media.

“All of the video’s they publish get over 50,000 views on YouTube and the company has over 2m Twitter followers, so we’re sure this is going to be great exposure for us and all involved.”

This is just the first of many exciting things that the band has planned for 2016, including the release of their debut single and radio tour, followed by many gigs across the UK, including here in Peterborough.

“We have a rapidly growing fan base,” said Jack.

“And we’re hoping it will continue at this rate with the amount of things we have planned this year.”

He added: “We are all so focused and are determined to do well. Music is everything to us and we want to do Peterborough proud.”
