Firefighters tackle building and house fires in Peterborough

Crews from Dogsthorpe and Stanground were called to a shed fire in Croyland Road, Walton, at around 2pm on Friday.

The flames had “quickly spread to a house,” Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said, with firefighters remaining at the scene until 4pm.

And on Saturday at 8am, crews from the same stations were called to Hampton Court in Westwood to tackle a fire at a commercial premises.

Both fires were started accidentally, the fire service said, and there were no reported injuries.
