Firefighters remain at scene of Monday's Fenland factory blaze

Firefighters are still at the scene of a major factory blaze - more than two days after the incident started.

Crews from Ramsey Fire Station are currently working with on-site staff at the Eastwood Industrial Estate in Wimblington to break up the paper bales and extinguish the remaining small pockets of fire.

Firefighters were initially called at 10am on Monday when the blaze broke out.

At its peak more than 50 firefighters were tackling the blaze, with crews from Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Norfolk all being called to help.

The A141 was closed for some time, but reopened at around 6pm on Monday.

The cause is believed to be accidental.
