Firefighters deal with blaze at Peterborough house

Fire crews were called to a house fire in Peterborough yesterday.

Firefighters spent nearly two hours dealing with the fire in Rosehall Court just after 5.30pm yesterday.

The teams arrived to find a fire involving a boiler in a house. They extinguished the fire using a hose reel and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

The crews returned to their station by 7.10pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

Crews also dealt with a number of other fires in and around Peterborough yesterday.

At 5.14pm crews from Stanground were called to a fire on Factory Bank in Ramsey.

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire involving refuse and extinguished it using a hose reel. They returned to their station by 6.25pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

And at 8.27pm firefighters from Whittlesey and Stanground were called to a fire on Grounds Way in Coates.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the open involving trees, which was spreading to a shed. They extinguished the fire using hose reels and returned to their stations by 9.40pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

Finally at 10.18pm crews from Wisbech were called to a fire on Mile Tree Lane in Wisbech.
