Fire service appeal after poor parking delays crews

The county’s fire service has appealed for people to be considerate when parking after firefighters were delayed attending an incident.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews were called to a shed fire in March earlier this week and were delayed by poorly parked vehicles.

“Thankfully no injuries were reported, but had this been a different incident things could have been a lot worse.

“In an emergency, every second counts. ⏲

“Think, if we can fit through, so can our colleagues at the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust and Cambridgeshire Constabulary.”

Firefighters had been called out shortly after 8pm on Wednesday to Peas Hill Road in March to extinguish the shed fire, which started accidentally.
