Everything we know about the Peterborough firework factory explosion

* Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the Le Maitre Factory in Fourth Drove, Fengate, at 10.37am on Tuesday, 2nd October, following an explosion.

* One man was airlifted to hospital suffering ‘severe burns.’ Police have since confirmed a man has sadly died

* The East of England Ambulance service sent two ambulance officers, two rapid response vehicles, two ambulances, two units from our Hazardous Area Response Team and MAGPAS Air Ambulance to provide medical treatment

* Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service sent one crew from Dogsthorpe, one crew from Stanground and the north roaming fire engine

* 5131 Bomb Disposal Squadron, based at RAF Wittering, were called to the scene to make the area safe for emergency services to work in

* The East of England Ambulance Service said one man was taken to hospital, and a second man needed treatment for burns at the scene, but was not taken to hospital

* The Health and Safety Executive have said they have made initial contact with emergency services following the explosion

* The cause of the explosion is not yet known, but police said it was not thought to be suspicious

* A police cordon remains in place at the scene and people are advised to stay away from the area while investigations take place

* A worker was killed at the factory in 1990. Michael Darroch, 27, died instantly in the incident
