Police raise concerns over increase in fly-tipping in rural areas of Peterborough

Police in Peterborough have raised concerns about an increase in levels of fly-tipping in rural areas of the city.

Officers raised concerns after discovering significant instances of fly-tipping across areas of Thorney over the past week.

These include finding building supplies, tyres and even a sofa dumped across back roads, including Green Drove, Black Drove and French Drove.

The force reported all instances found to Peterborough City Council for action.

A force statement said: “We have noticed an increase in fly tipping recently. While this may seem as not much of an issue to some, it can have a big impact on the communities it happens in. “You can find out about the penalties of fly tipping and how to report it over on Peterborough City Council’s website https://orlo.uk/XG62l.
