One out of every 16 vehicles registered in the city are Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicles (ULEVs) according to research from energy auto-switching service Migrate.

Peterborough as a local authority area just pips the Forest of Dean (one out of 17) to top spot, followed by Westminster.

George Chalmers, CEO of Migrate, said; “Two places that stood out were Peterborough, who had the highest number of electric cars as a proportion of total vehicles on the road, and Birmingham who has more registered ULEVs than any other single local authority/council, both of which declared a climate emergency in 2019.

“While our study looked at publicly available charging points, some energy suppliers are now offering special deals for those who charge up at home, so if you live in an area where public chargers aren’t as readily available it might be worthwhile seeing if you could benefit from switching to one of the deals instead.”
