Nene Park Trust has had its application for a new pop-up cafe at Thorpe Meadows approved.
The trust said that it wanted to create the cafe to enhance the visitor amenities in the country park.

An external seating area will also be created to provide a seating area overlooking the lake to the south.
It is then proposed that a small children’s play area will be developed alongside the cafe and to the edge of the woodland.
The development will also include a small section of footpath realignment and avenue tree planting to the north of the site to improve the sense of arrival into Thorpe Meadows for pedestrians and cyclists and improve accessibility to the cafe site.

Following on from other recent projects such as the new play area, Fox Play in Ferry Meadows, and the plans for the new Lakeside Activity Centre, the proposals for the café at Thorpe Meadows continue the trust’s masterplan aims of improving the Nene Park visitor offer across the whole Park, as well as improving impact and sustainability.
