Withe the new year now well underway, here are some of the most prominent buildings in the city of Peterborough that we would like to see restored and brought back to life this year.

5. Hilton Hotel, Fletton Quays
A half-built hotel right in the heart of the city does its reputation no good at all. Administrators are working on a sale but that can't come soon enough. Photo: PT

6. Sessions House, Thorpe Road
Certainly one of Peterborough's most iconic looking buildings. The landmark Grade 2 listed building on Thorpe Road has a colourful history – built in the mid-19th century as the entrance to the old prison it later became a court house. It has also been a pub, restaurant and bar but closed in 2012 and the grounds have since been used as a car park. New restaurant plans have been mooted and it would be great to see the building back in use again. Photo: PT

7. Henry Penn Way
Maybe some liberties being taken with this one but eyesores don't get any bigger than Henry Penn Walk. We can only hope that 2026 is the year the sinkhole is finally repaired. Photo: David Lowndes

8. Dragonfly Hotel, Thorpe Meadows
In a prime location on the rowing lake, the building is being phased out for use by asylum seekers and after that, it would be fantastic to see the return of a beautiful spot to enjoy something to eat by the water. Photo: David Lowndes
