Now his family have paid tribute to him.

In a statement they said: “"Ian was adored daddy to two daughters. Much-loved son of Beverly and Stephen. Loved without limits by his sister Sarah and brother-in-law Tom.

"The most devoted uncle to Ella-Rose and Jessica. A cherished grandson, nephew and cousin to his wider family. He was a sanctuary to so many close friends whose lives he made immeasurably brighter. "There was no one who made us laugh like Ian. He walked into a room and brought instant sunshine, comfort and warmth with his humour, intelligence, kindness and huge heart. His depth and presence got us through the hardest moments and made life so much more worth living.

"Passionate about running, music and cars, and always with a great eye for design, he was philosophical, artistic and tenacious. He approached life with 100% and a huge heart. "He was truly genuine, and always there for you without a second question. Ian served with great pride at the Ministry of Defence, where he achieved so much. He was remembered by colleagues for his kindness, his approachable nature, and the close friendships he built, he was always there to listen.

"Colleagues will also remember him for always coming with coffee. He was our anchor, our light, and the very best version of us. We trusted him completely, and we take him with us in all that we do. We are so proud of the man you became. Loved unconditionally. Forever in our hearts.”

Officers and paramedics were called to the B1050 Earith Road, at Willingham, at 8pm on Wednesday (1 July) following the collision between the yellow and black crop sprayer and an orange Triumph motorcycle.

The crop sprayer driver, a man aged in his 30s from Willingham, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed until 1 October.

Sergeant Mark Atkins said: “I am appealing to anyone who might have seen the collision or the vehicles in the moments before to get in touch. I would also like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage.

“Thank you to the local community for their patience while the road was closed.”

Anyone with information or footage should use reference 35/49548/26 and report it through the force website.
