GALLERY: Cambridgeshire road reopens after burst water main causes major flooding and potential carriageway collapse
A road in Wisbech has reopened after a burst water main flooded the carriageway on Tuesday morning (August 4).
Police were called to Weasenham Lane in Wisbech at around 6am on Tuesday morning due to flooding caused by a burst water main and the road was closed from Elm Low Road to Boleness Road.
The force said that it appeared that some of the carriageway had collapsed and drivers have been advised to approach the reopened road with care.
Many residents in Wisbech have been lift with low water pressure as a result of the issues. The company has said that it hopes to restore things to normal by 8pm.

An Anglian Water spokesperson said: “Teams are currently on site investigating a leak in the Weasenham Lane area of Wisbech and are working to understand the cause and any impact on customers."
Cambridgeshire Police added: “Anglian water has isolated the burst and water pressure in the area will hopefully return.
“If you have any issues with your water pressure / supply please speak to Anglian Water.
“The road will likely close again between New Drove and Boleness when the team arrive to fix the damage.”
