Driver taken to hospital after crashing into ditch

Emergency services were called to Pearces Road, Flag Fen at 1.30am this morning following the single vehicle collision.

A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a single vehicle road traffic collision, where the car had left the road and ended up in a ditch. Firefighters used specialist equipment to rescue the casualty from the ditch.

“The casualty was left in the care of the ambulance service.

“Crews returned to their stations by 2.40am.”

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said the driver was taken to Peterborough City Hospital for treatment.

A police spokesman said the driver had minor injuries.
