Disappointment for England fans at Peterborough street party after last minute equalizer
There was disappointment for England fans in Peterborough last night as the football team could only manage a draw with Russia.
Hundreds gathered - many draped in England flags and shirts - at a special party in Brook Street at the Solstice bar to watch Roy Hodgson’s men start their Euro 16 campaign, but despite Eric Dier’s opening goal, the team could only manage a draw thanks to a late equalizer.
However, there was still a party atmosphere throughout the match, with live bands and DJs entertaining the crowd.
The next party will take place for the crucial match next Monday with Slovakia - although England’s next game is on Thursday afternoon against Wales.
