Warning over council tax refund scam

Fenland District Council put out the warning on social media, tweeting: “Scam warning!”

It added: “We have been alerted that a company is contacting residents claiming they are due a council tax refund in an attempt to get payment/bank details. Please don’t provide card details over the phone. If you are due a refund, we would always write to you directly.”
