Two charged with murder appear in court as body is identified

Two men have appeared in court charged with murdering a man in Wisbech.

Tomas Lazdauskas, 23 of Milner Road, Wisbech and Donatas Umbrasas, 27 of Albany Road, Wisbech, were both charged with murder this morning after the body of a man was found in Wisbech on Saturday.

While formal identification has not yet taken place, the two men stand accused of murdering Mindaugas Arlauskas, 28 of Princes Road, Wisbech.

They appeared via video link at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court today (12 May) for their first hearing and were remanded in custody.

The man’s body was discovered at about 5.10am on Saturday, 9 May, outside an industrial unit in Sandall Road, Wisbech.

A post mortem examination carried out by Dr Ben Swift at Peterborough City Hospital yesterday (11 May) concluded the man died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.

A further court hearing is scheduled for Thursday (14 May) at Cambridge Crown Court.
