Three people seriously hurt after crash involving lamppost

Three people were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash which involved a lamppost.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the three vehicle collision just before 6pm last yesterday (Thursday) at the Churchill Road junction with Elm Road in Wisbech, with the road being closed.

Three people were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn with serious injuries. Two have been discharged and one is being kept in for observation, Cambridgeshire police said.

The vehicles were recovered from the carriageway and a lamppost was made safe by Cambridgeshire County Council.

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or has dash cam footage, to call 101 and quote incident 332 of February 20.
