Teen arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Peterborough released by police

A teenager arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Peterborough has been released by police who will take no action against him.

The 18-year-old from Orton Malborne answered police bail this lunchtime in relation to a stabbing in Elmfield Road, Dogsthorpe, which police were called to at around 3.20pm on May 6.

A police spokeswoman said he has now been released with no action to be taken against him.

The incident last month saw armed police called to the scene with a man in his 20s suffering serious injuries, although he has since recovered.

In total, six people have been arrested over the stabbing.

Two boys who are 16 and 17, and who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.

They last appeared in court on May 27 and will next appear in a crown court for trial on a date which has yet to be set. Both remain on bail.

A 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were both arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm (GBH), however, they have both since been released with no action taken against them.

A 47-year-old woman was arrested on May 8 on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has been released under investigation.
