‘Robust’ action promised against youths carrying out ‘rowdy’ behaviour

Police have promised to carry out “robust” action against youths said to be responsible for “rowdy” and “nuisance” behaviour in Chatteris.

Cambridgeshire police posted on social media: “Following several calls reporting anti-social behaviour directed at people in their homes across Chatteris your local team have deployed various patrol tactics in order to deter/catch those responsible.

“Such is the detrimental impact on the victims robust action will be taken on identified perpetrators. Please report any incidents of anti-social or offensive behaviour via 101 or our online reporting tool.”

Asked for further information, a police spokesman added: “When officers have been engaging with local residents in Chatteris in recent days they have been made aware of rowdy or nuisance behaviour by small groups of young people.

“We take reports of anti-social seriously and encourage victims to report incidents to us be calling 101 or visiting our website. Dial 999 in an emergency.”
